NZRL International Trainer Course:

The NZRL International Trainer Course can be cross credited to the Australian Rugby League First Aid Officer Level 2 Accreditation enabling trainers access to the NRL as a trainer.

When: Friday Feb 10 to Sunday February 12 

Where: Hopu Hopu Sports Park, Ngaruawahia Waikato.

Pre Requisites: 

  • Current NZRL National Trainer Accreditation:
     - Recognition of Prior Learning Available to this level.
    -  If accreditation is expired the candidate must have a current First Aid Certificate.
  • Demonstrated experience of at least three seasons within Rugby League as a International Rules Grade Coach or Trainer.
  • Or relevant experience equivalent to three seasons of Rugby League.
  • The NZRL will assess each application on its merits with priority given to current accredited National Trainers working within Rugby League.
  • The NZRL decision on admission to the International Trainer Programme will be considered final.

The International Trainer Accreditation is the minimum standard expected of experienced, senior trainers and International Representative Trainers and is currently in development with International Rugby League bodies.

The International Trainer Accreditation will be delivered in line with international standards of the Australian Rugby League, First Aid Officer Level 2, and the National Rugby League SMA level 2.

To qualify for entry into this programme the candidate must have attained the NZRL FAO and National Trainer accreditations either through course completion or Recognition of Prior Learning.

The candidate must also demonstrate reasonable experience in the role of a trainer.

A minimum of 150 hours as a trainer (e.g. Log books, training plans etc) with endorsement from a Senior club coach, Club Chairperson or District or Zone.
