GENERAL MANAGER
Kasey King
Kasey King has been confirmed as the General Manager f
or the Counties
Manukau Zone. Kasey has played league since returning to NZ from
his OE in England in 1991. After playing Open Grade restricted
league for a couple of seasons he progressed to playing Premiers,
playing with Mangere East for six years. When his son showed an
interest in playing league he made the move to coach, and continues
to be involved with the club in a number of roles, including as
coach, masters player and working in club management.
Kasey started his professional life as a cabinet maker but soon
moved into management, and has completed a range of management
papers, studying part time at MIT and Auckland University; he comes
to the NZRL from a long term position as Production Manager of New
Zealand's largest Furniture Manufacture.
Married with three children, he admits to being sports mad
having also played representative rugby, and touch and his wife and
daughters are also involved in the local netball scene. He says "I
have a huge passion to get involved in sport on a professional
level and I believe I have a lot to offer. I've been at the coal
face and I know that a well run club is the first step in a well
run game."
With previous experience at working with the community to gain
better facilities and resources for his local club, his new focus
will be on doing the same for all the clubs which fall within his
Zone, who he is eagerly looking forward to working with.

Biographies
KEN LOTU-IIGA - Chairman
Ken is a Divisional Manager at Fletcher Residential and
has held a variety of management positions within the Fletcher
Building Group since starting there in 1993. These included
being a Project Manager at Fletcher Homes and Plyco Doors and
Business Manager (Windows and Doors) at Fletcher Aluminium where he
was also a past President of the Window Association of NZ, being
the industry body of the sector. Ken has a Bachelor of
Law and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) from the
University of Auckland and has been admitted as a Barrister and
Solicitor. Ken is married to Julie with 3 children, Bronson,
Theo and Konrad.
TREVOR GILL - Independent
Trevor resides in Pukekohe and is currently the CEO of
Counties Manukau Cricket. Trevor has a Diploma in
Teaching from the Auckland Secondary Teachers College, majoring in
Physical Education, Diploma in Recreation and Sport from Manukau
Polytechnic and Grade Diploma in Business Studies from Massey
University with both diplomas majoring in Sport Management.
He has provisional accreditation for the NZ Institute of Directors
and is an Associate Fellow and Management Mentor for the NZ
Institute of Management.
EMILE VA'AFUSUAGA
Emile brings extensive experience as a teacher of 21 years
in secondary, intermediate and primary schools, a businessman,
sportsman and a family man. Emile is currently the Co-Coach of
the U9/10 Restricted team for Howick and has held a number of
coaching positions over the years. He was Team Manager of the
NZ Secondary Schools rugby league team who played the Junior
Kangaroos in 1995. Emile has played representative rugby
league and was in the Kiwi Training Squad in 1981. Emile
achieved a BA at the University of Auckland in History and in 2008
completed his Master of Education (Honours) at University of
Auckland, majoring in Education.
