Coaching & Development Officer

COUNTIES MANUKAU

Accountable to the Zone GM and will also be responsible to the NZRL National Coaching & Development Manager for consistent delivery of the Zone 'Development Plan'. As Zones are primarily responsible for fostering the development of the game, the C&D Officer will assist to develop a Zone Game Development Plan to support achievement of these national objectives within a regional context. 

To provide the level of leadership necessary to be successful in this role, the Coaching & Development Officer  will possess the following attributes: 

  • The ability to communicate effectively to build & maintain positive working relationships with Coaches, Trainers, Managers, Selectors, Players and the wider community. i.e. clubs, schools, organised groups. 
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and strive to be the best where performance and accountability is measured by achievement of clearly defined outcomes.  
  • Sound knowledge of Rugby League rules, skill sets and competitions in order to provide competent delivery of coaching & development techniques.  
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to get the job done with limited resources.  
  • An appreciation of the strategic issues facing the zone and the potential for Rugby League to add value to the communities the game serves.  

This will be a 'hands on' role with the primary objective of delivering a coaching & development plan to up skill people in clubs and schools with a view of increasing participation numbers within Counties Manukau.
